"When will life get back to normal?"
I asked my spouse this repeatedly last year. Each time he would give the same reply, "You know we have it really good. Just look at what some people have to deal with." And he was right. Still, I would ask him the same question again. This was my way of coping with the fear of unknown.
We all know people who seemed to be stuck in one way or the other. Some were stuck in other cities away from home and friends. Everyone struggled, in their own way, to cope with the unforeseen situation that had manifested itself.
Facing the challenges that life poses causes anxiety. But with good coping skills we are able to manage anxiety. Here are few ways people choose to cope with anxiety:
Journaling
Exercise or physical activity
Meditation
Gratitude
Gratitude is healing but we all know it's impossible to be grateful all the time. Sometimes we have to let off the steam.
According to experts complaining can be an effective way to help you cope with your emotions and feelings, if you use it wisely. By venting out your frustrations to a friend or family, you can release your emotions in that moment and get on with life. When you talk to someone and share your fears, it reduces the intensity of the pressure. It also makes you aware that you're not alone and that you have the care and support of the other person.
How do you cope with anxiety?
My door Complains
My door complains
I work in vain
I stand all day
Alone I stay
I hold your wall
And wait for all
No thanks I get
Am slammed instead
I want to leave
I need relief
I'll only stay
for one off day
